day 138-140: technical difficulties + laziness

365 projectJoanne ShihComment

The title of this post sums up why I haven't blogged my 365 project the past couple days! To elaborate further, the computer I normally use for all digitizing (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and also blogging is on its very, very last legs (the non-functional bit of its last legs at that). It basically overheated and went into a coma a couple days ago and now has a hard time just staying on and usable long enough to open up Chrome. Sadface :(

So, I haven't done any digitizing the past couple days and didn't blog either, even though I suppose I could have used a laptop (that's where the laziness comes in). Since it seems like I'll have to wait a bit longer until our permanent solution comes in, the hubs lovingly set up a temporary work station for me! He had a 2011 Macbook Pro hanging around unused for a while so he's hooked it up to an external monitor, and luckily all my design stuff was copied over to an external hard drive so I have access to that! So I'm back to updating this thing.

Also, we made our biggest single-item purchase as a married couple this morning by ordering a new iMac. Jon is keen that this new one will last us a really long time and that we'll be better about taking care of it than he was with the one that just bit the dust (which, granted, did last a pretty long time!). Exciting!

Without further ado, here's what I made the past three days:

Day 138: "Love your weeds as much as your unblossomed roses." From The Art of Possibility by the Zanders.

Day 139: A late-night lettering after going out for drinks with friends, so I just did this pretty quickly with the Tombow brush pen (both sides came in handy for this one!)

Day 140: A more time-intensive one that I did yesterday! Wanted to practice making flourishes and drawing downstrokes after a couple days of just using brush pen for the strokes. Also, what does this lyric mean?
